Free Buses
A complimentary bus service is provided by the Northern Territory Government for people attending BASSINTHEGRASS departing from the Darwin City bus interchange. Free buses will also be available at the conclusion of BASSINTHEGRASS to ensure patrons get home safely.
Departing Darwin City Bus interchange
On arrival at the Darwin City Interchange you can catch the free shuttle bus to BASSINTHEGRASS from Bay E. The bus will stop at the entry to the Gardens Amphitheatre on Gardens Road. The shuttle bus will then return to the Darwin Bus Interchange.
The free Shuttle bus will operate from 11:15am, approximately every 30 minutes to and from BASSINTHEGRASS. The final service departing Gardens Road will be approximately 30 minutes after BASSINTHEGRASS has finished.
Getting to BASSINTHEGRASS
- Route 4 Bay C – Casuarina via Nightcliff to Darwin dropping passengers off on Gilruth Ave, 5 min walk to BASSINTHEGRASS
- Route 10 Bay C – Casuarina via Bagot Rd to Darwin City Bus interchange – catch the Free Shuttle Bay E
- Route 8 Bay J – Palmerston via Stuart Highway to Darwin City Bus interchange – catch the Free Shuttle Bay E
Getting home from BASSINTHEGRASS
At the end of BASSINTHEGRASS buses will be free. Buses to Casuarina, Darwin and Palmerston interchanges will continue on to the suburbs, dropping passengers off as required on the closest main road to their home.
- Route 10 via Bagot Rd to Casuarina
- Route 8 via Stuart Highway to Palmerston
- Route 4 via Nightcliff to Casuarina
Buses to the rural areas will return passengers to Howard Springs, Coolalinga bus stop, Humpty Doo shops and Noonamah bus stop.
